On behalf of the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the European Union, Mdm. Monika Sopkovičová, I was asked for a meeting concerning the draft REPowerEU regulation, as was called the regulation to phase out Russian gas by the Council. As I´m the Shadow rapporteur for this file, I accepted the meeting request and we met in EP in Brussels to discuss the matter. I listened to the concerns of Slovakian government, but also made my position in this case clear - that we need to end the imports of Russian gas as soon as possible.
