I met in the EP in Strasbourg with Ms. Zhala Bayramova, Azerbaijani Human Rights Lawyer and daughter of Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu (Azerbaijani academic and anti-corruption fighter prosecuted by president Aliyev´s regime and nominated for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought 2024). I met again with Zhala and had a follow-up discussion with her about the health situation of her father and campaigning activities for his support and how can I assist her. I was also informed about the continuous deliveries of Russian gas and oil through Azerbaijan to Europe and plan to raise it in one of my committees or delegations.

V rámci GLOBSECu, kterého jsem se v Praze účastnila, jsem byla požádána o schůzku s panem Dr. Chen Ming-chi, náměstkem ministra zahraničí Tchaj-wanu. S panem Chen Ming-chi jsme diskutovali o aktuální napjaté situaci v regionu, ale také o česko-tchajwanské spolupráci v oblasti obrany, stejně jako o stavbě továrny na čipy. Schůzky se nakonec také účastnil Jakub Michálek, pirátský poslanec, jelikož tento časový slot pro něj byl vhodnější než ten se Zdeňkem Hřibem.

I was asked by Ms. Anna Zevako, on behalf of the Ukrainian human rights organization Media Initiative for Human Rights (MIHR), for an online meeting. MIHR is focusing on documenting the unlawful detention of civilians in the Russian-occupied territories and advocating for their release. Therefore, they wanted to discuss the broader issue of civilian detentions and potential avenues for advocacy. They contacted me due to my letter to one of the Ukrainian political prisoners, Serheii Kovalskyi. They asked me to also send my answer through them, as they are in contact with his lawyer, and medialize his case. I already had that in plan before this meeting.

Na jeho žádost jsem se v prostorách EP v Bruselu setkala s bývalým kolegou Marcelem Kolajou, nyní ředitelem Policy & Advocacy týmu ve společnosti Access Now. Diskutovali jsme především o běžící implementaci DSA a AI Actu a o práci Marcelových kolegů na svobodě médií. Zde jsem slíbila propojení na mého kolegu ze Zelených, který se věnuje Srbsku, což jsem posléze také udělala.

Na žádost pana Lukáše Bagína (External Affairs Officer - RFE/RL) jsem přijala pozvánku na návštěvu Rádia Svobodná Evropa a na setkání s panem prezidentem Rádia Svobodná Evropa Stephenem Capusem. (Setkání se měl původně zúčastnit Zdeněk Hřib, pozvánku jsem přijala místo něj.) V Rádiu Svobodná Evropa mi představili práci, kterou odvádí ve 23 zemích, kde poskytují nezávislé zpravodajství. Setkání proběhlo v kontextu zastavení financování ze strany USA a plánu RFE na budoucí fungování. S panem Capusem jsme proto diskutovali také plánované kroky ze strany EU, konkrétně EP, při plánování rozpočtu na následující roky.

Byla jsem oslovena prostřednictvím Stálého zastoupení ČR při EU se žádostí o schůzku s paní Jitkou Látal Znamenáčkovou - Zástupkyní stálého představitele ČR při EU, Stálou představitelkou ČR v Politickém a bezpečnostním výboru EU (COPS). S paní Látal Znamenáčkovou jsem se setkala v prostorách EP v Bruselu. Jednalo se o zdvořilostní, seznamovací setkání, při kterém jsme diskutovaly aktuální témata.

Byla jsem požádána prostřednictvím kanceláře Taipei Representative Office in the European Union and Belgium o setkání s panem Dr. Roy Chun Leem, zástupcem Taiwanu. Sekání jsem ráda přijala, sešli jsme se v prostorách EP v Bruselu. Jednalo se o formální setkání, bavili jsme se především o technologické spolupráci Taiwanu a Evropy a dopadu Trumpových cel na naše země.

I was contacted with a meeting request on behalf of the Georgian grassroots civic movement "Daitove". I met with several key leaders in the premises of the EP in Brussels. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing protests in Georgia, as Daitove has played a central role in coordinating the protests, countering Russian and Georgian Dream propaganda, and monitoring the elections.

I was contacted with a meeting request on behalf of the civil platform "Generations for Georgia", which unites many Georgian emigrants from all countries. I had a short online call with the representatives and we discussed the crisis situation in Georgia, the continuous protests of the Georgian society and also the visions of the Georgian society on the ways to peacefully exit the current crisis.

Ms. Gugulashvili and Ms. Pitalskaya from the Georgian NGO "Promote Georgia" asked me for a meeting. I accepted and met them in the EP in Brussels, together with my trainee Ms. Antoniuk. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the worsening crisis in Georgia, including the situation of several unlawfully imprisoned Georgian political prisoners arrested during the protests against the increasingly repressive Georgian regime.
