On behalf of the co-presidents of Volt Europa, Francesca Romana D’Antuono and Mels Klabbers, Mr. Slavomír Maňásek asked me for a meeting in person in Brussels, where he was representing the co-presidents and the European board at the Volt Belgium General Assembly. He wanted to discuss primarily my experience with cooperation with the Volt delegation in the European Parliament, but also the current political situation in Czechia and the prospects of progressive politics in Czechia in the upcoming years.

Jan Řežáb, zakladatel společnosti Ravineo, mě oslovil se žádostí o schůzku. Spojila jsem se s ním online přes Jitsi, aby mi představil svoji činnost a vize v oblasti vymáhání DSA, která u nás poněkud pokulhává, a jak DSA více vysvětlit na co nejvíce úrovních. Na žádných dalších krocích jsme se nedomluvili.

Zástupci American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) mě požádali o schůzku ohledně FDI (Foreign Investment Screening Regulation), jehož jsem stínovou zpravodajkou ve dvou výborech. Žádost jsem přijala a setkala se s nimi v prostorách EP v Bruselu, abych si vyslechla jejich zkušenosti s kontrolou investic a doporučení. Žádné další kroky jsem jim nepřislíbila.

Kontaktovala mě kancelář Japonského velvyslanectví při Evropské unii s žádostí o schůzku. V prostorách EP v Bruselu jsem se setkala s panem Yasushi Yamamoto, zástupcem velvyslance. Jednalo se o úvodní, zdvořilostní setkání. Řešili jsme ale i situaci v regionu, otázky zahraniční politiky a bezpečnost.

I met in the EP in Strasbourg with Ms. Zhala Bayramova, Azerbaijani Human Rights Lawyer and daughter of Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu (Azerbaijani academic and anti-corruption fighter prosecuted by president Aliyev´s regime and nominated for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought 2024). Although Mr. Ibadoghlu did not win the Sakharov Prize, he was invited to deliver a speech at the EP Plenary session during the award ceremony. However, the Azerbaijani regime denied Mr. Ibadoghlu to leave the country. I thus met with Zhala and discussed with her his health situation and campaigning activities for his support and how can I assist her.

Byla jsem požádána prostřednictvím kanceláře Taipei Representative Office in the European Union and Belgium o formální setkání s panem Dr. Roy Chun Leem, zástupcem Taiwanu. Sekání jsem ráda přijala, sešli jsme se v prostorách EP v Bruselu. Jednalo se o představovací setkání, bavili jsme se především o technologické spolupráci Taiwanu a Evropy.

Ms. Tetiana Zhukova from the Human Rights Centre ZMINA (Ukraine) asked me for a meeting in the EP with a delegation of Ukrainian and Czech civil society representatives, who were visiting Brussels. I met with Ms. Zhukova in Prague earlier that year, so I glady agreed with the meeting now. The aim of the meeting was to speak about the reality of life in the occupied Crimea, the stories of its residents, and the inadmissibility of territorial concessions by Ukraine. During the meeting, we agreed on cooperation on a campaign to write letters to Crimean political prisoners, which happened in February.

Ms. Amy Shepherd and Mr. Yik Kei Leung from the Think-Film Impact Production (Taiwan) asked me for a meeting in the EP. They wanted to present me their new documentary "INVISIBLE NATION", about Taiwan’s first female President, Tsai Ing-wen. They also wanted to talk about possible ways we could collaborate and potentially bring the film to Brussels.

Měla jsem spolu se svým asistentem schůzku s Maximilianem Schremsem. Je to rakouský aktivista, právník a autor. Diskutovali jsme podobu zákona o GDPR a technické úpravy, jichž jsem zpravodajkou.

Zástupci Asociace pro mezinárodní otázky (AMO) mě oslovili se žádostí o schůzku v Bruselu. Setkala jsem se s paní Janebovou, panem Sklenářem a paní Karáskovou v kavárně v EP. Účelem schůzky bylo přestavení současných aktivit AMO a nabídka spolupráce na tématech týkajících se zahraniční politiky, bezpečnosti nebo změny klimatu.
